4. Often decorated with a toothed frill. I take a piece of fabric and process the edges. I retreat from the outer edge of the element by about 1.5 cm and, using a pencil and ruler, mark the bending line. I draw the same lines on the sides of the part.
5. I measure the distance of the fabric part between the side hem. I divide the resulting number into sections. Their number must be even. The width of the teeth directly depends on the width of the section.
6. Using a simple pencil, mark the boundaries of the sections.
7. I put an additional line on the fabric part parallel to the outer hem line. The distance between the lines corresponds to the height of the cloves. Using a ruler and a pencil, I mark out the cloves.
8. I attach a rim to the curtain, combine and fasten with pins. I cut the cloves with scissors, moving along a line resembling a zigzag.
9. I hem the frill. I tuck and hem the allowances, iron the seams. To prevent the threads from opening, I slightly coat the curly section with colorless varnish and let it dry.
10. I iron the trim from the front. I put it on the curtain again, put it together and attach it. I sew the serrated edges manually. Curtains are ready.

At first glance it seems that it is very difficult. Believe me, I used to think so too. Try to sew the curtains yourself, and you will understand how easy it is to do it. True, patience and imagination are indispensable.

3. Cutting fabric. Using a centimeter, measure the length. Next, using a straight stick, I draw a cut line. I mark the fabric with soap or chalk. Carefully cut the material along the line.
4. I process the edges. I turn on the iron and let it warm. I lower the upper edge of the canvas by one meter and iron it well. I iron the bottom part in the same way.
5. Sewing time has come. On the sides I make bends and fix with pins. Then I machine all sides.
6. It remains to hang new curtains, hand-sewn, on the ledge.

6. If the material is thin, I sew plastic or a strip of denser fabric into the lower hem. After that, I sew around the perimeter to completely align the seams. I process the upper edge in the same way.
7. It remains to sew the braid. I attach it to the curtain from the wrong side and fix it with pins. I align the braid, and cut off the excess with scissors.
8. I take the ends of the shoelaces, tighten them tightly and tie. I hide the knotted knots from the inside. I do the same on the reverse side. Drapery is ready.
9. I sew the braid to the curtain and fasten the loops on the hooks. The curtain is completely ready.

SEWING:

1. First of all, I prepare the cuffs. I take a piece of fabric 30 cm wide and mark the middle.
2. I put a grommet tape to the intended line and glue it with a heated iron.
3. On the side where the tape is, I iron the seam allowance. I iron the second allowance, which is located on the front side.
4. Stitching the ends of the cuff.
5. I turn the ends of the cuff and put the curtain inside. I make sure that the glued edge remains on the outside. Laying a line.
6. Before installing the eyelets on the curtain with chalk, I make markings for the rings. The distance between the grommets is approximately 8 cm.
7. I cut holes a few millimeters more from the marked line.

4. The fabric is not overcast. On three sides, with the exception of the top, I make small bends and fix them with pins. Later here will be a machine line.
5. In the upper part I leave some free material. I mark this area on the workpiece with pins. It will be required to hide the braid or curtain rod.
6. I’m stitching all the sketches on a typewriter. As a result, seams are obtained along the edge of the fabric, and the material gets a processed and beautiful look.
7. I return to the free material at the top. I fold the fabric in half to make a double layer of material. For even stitching, I fasten the material with hairpins, and only after that I use the machine.
8. It remains to make the tie. Curtains can be moved and opened or tied with ribbons. In the latter case, the effect is more interesting.
9. For ties I use the material from which I sew the curtains. You can use a fabric of a different texture and color.

Country curtains are ready. It remains to hang on the ledge and enjoy their beauty.
